Everything I make is a prototype. I love figuring out new patterns, and so far I’m new enough to bag making that I rarely make the same one twice. And on those rare occasions, such as the ukulele case, I made modifications to the sewing method based on what I discovered during the initial build that I hoped would solve some issues on the second bag. When I made my ukulele case, for example, I found the lining method described in the pattern to be difficult due to the thickness of all the fabric and foam involved, so I tried a different way when I made Becky’s bag. The second way wasn’t necessarily better, by the way, so again, I learned something. I think that’s what is the most interesting thing for me — learning, discovering, playing, and experimenting. I’m not interested in getting to the point of perfecting a specific bag so I can make multiples, because what in the world would I do with them? I’m not looking to go into production. That being said, if you see anything on this site that you love, make me an offer!
