Another of the Boersma’s samples is this Origami handbag, pattern by Zen Chic. The pieces are circles, sewn together by the other edges. The handles are attached at the center of the top circle, which is open, then the rest of the circle hangs down. Hard to explain. I wasn’t too sure about this one so I made a prototype first, and after a while it grew on me. I like the black and white polka dots. The bag is reversible. The pattern calls for leather handles, but since the bag is not interfaced I felt they were far too heavy so I used webbing straps instead. I also made them just a few inches longer than the pattern so the bag can be carried over the shoulder if desired.
