This is the fourth mini backpack I’ve made from the same pattern. I carry the faux leather one myself, and I get lots of compliments on it, especially when I tell people I made it myself (proudly!). Someone I know asked me to make one for her, and I had been looking for a project for some lovely waxed canvas I bought at Montavilla Sewing Center, and a project was born. I included both carrying handles, because I miss the one I left out on my faux leather version, and I eliminated the zipper cover on the exterior pocket. The fabric is too stiff to make this a good feature because it’s too hard to use the pocket. I also used a double zipper pull as this is something I wish I had on my version. There’s a single zipper pocket on the interior. I was lucky that my friend is a Green Bay Packers fan, so I could use both colors of waxed canvas in the project.
