Diva Wallets

These wallets are made using the Diva Wallet pattern by Sew Many Creations. Karla found it in a quilt shop and asked me to make it for her. The wallet has two slip pockets wide enough for cash or a phone, six card slots, and a zipper pocket for change. It can be used as a clutch bag or pop it into a larger tote as a wallet.

The first one I made using the black patterned cork and purple interior. I used medium interfacing, which I thought gave a wrinkled appearance that I didn’t love. so I made a second one using a linen exterior and interior, along with patterned quilt fabric for the pockets. I was more careful with the interfacing on this one and I’m happier with the results. On the linen one, I used Decovil light interfacing, which has a nice leathery feel without a lot of extra bulk.

I’m pleased with this wallet pattern and would make more, maybe even one for myself one day. It’s a perfect project for scraps of fabric. I was thinking I could perhaps piece and quilt the exterior.
