Buckthorn Tote

This is the second tote I made for Boersma’s to be on display in their store’s bag-making department. This is another Noodlehead pattern, the Buckthorn. It’s a basic tote, with a zipper top closure, interior and exterior slip pockets, and webbing handles. This size bag would be perfect for carrying a sewing or knitting project, or maybe library books. The pattern also includes a backpack option, where the bag itself is larger and has straps for carrying it on your back.

Sarah asked me to use one of their corduroy fabrics, which I think makes the bag nice and warm and comfy looking. The only caveat would be using the corduroy for the top binding. I found it to be a bit bulky, and I would probably use a quilt cotton next time instead. I also tried making the zipper tab in the corduroy but could not get it to look nice, so I opted for the lining fabric instead.
