Pepin Tote

Recently, I was asked by Sarah at Boersma’s Sewing Center to make some sample bags for their growing selection of bag making supplies. This is the first of the patterns she asked me to stitch up for them. It’s the Pepin Tote by Noodlehead. Sarah asked that I use a waxed canvas fabric and leather handles. This is a beginner friendly pattern and will be perfect to show novice bag-makers what they can create themselves. I used a magnetic snap for the top closure and kept the exterior pocket as a simple slip pocket. The pattern shows other options for top closures as well as pocket closures, for those interested in furthering their skills. I love the extra pizzazz the leather handles add to this basic but useful tote. They were easy to work with, but I suggest using a strong needle in your domestic machine, perhaps a denim needle.
